State of Nature report

The first State of Nature report is launched today (May 22nd) providing the most comprehensive assessment to date of biodiversity in the UK.  This is the result of data collation and analysis by a consortium of 25 non-government organisations and biodiversity recording schemes over the last year in the largest ever cross-taxa collaboration of its kind.

Radio 4 tweet of the day

We are thoroughly enjoying listening to BBC Radio 4’s Tweet of the Day, every week day at 5.58am. Each Tweet of the Day begins with a bird call or song, followed by a story of fascinating ornithology inspired by the sound. Recent species introduced by Sir David Attenborough have included Dartford Warbler, Blackcap and Nightingale. To see what species will be featured next, visit the Tweet of the Day webpage.
